This weekend marks Albuquerque’s 41st annual PrideFest, which started Saturday with a march starting at Robinson Park Downtown. Organizers of the festival expected about 14,000 people from throughout the Southwest to attend the various planned events.
Due to the mayor’s ART transit project construction, this year’s parade was moved off Central Avenue. Instead participants danced up the streets from Lomas & Washington to the fairgrounds at Expo New Mexico, where the annual festival was held in participation with Bernalillo County and the City of Albuquerque.
Even though the parade route have changed for this year, attendees had the usual fancy floats, dazzling rainbows, sultry burlesque outfits — to Saturday’s Albuquerque Pride parade.
