ALBUQUERQUE — The Albuquerque BioPark is hosting an event to celebrate Global Tiger Day on Saturday.

In the early 1900s there were 100,000 tigers, today only about 3,000 exist in the entire world.

Albuquerque BioPark will host an event where you can learn more about tigers and their conservation efforts. The zoo’s Malayan tiger, Penari, will enjoy a special public enrichment activity.

Penari was brought to the zoo in February and is part of a tiger species survival plan.
