Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry will go to Washington Thursday to participate in an infrastructure summit, the mayor’s office announced.
President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and members of the president’s cabinet invited Berry and other municipal and state leaders to discuss policy and how to best implement the president’s infrastructure plan.
Trump wants to revamp the nation’s roads, bridges and highways at $1 trillion price tag. Berry will help provide input on how to best use federal dollars in the massive public works investment, his office said.
It is not clear weather or not the mayor will seek funds for his ART transit project, which is underfunded with the current Trump budget proposals.Like this story? Sign up for our daily newsletter to get more of our best original news.
